All work and no play make Jack a dull boy. Hard and industrious work is necessary for us to achieve goals in life. But concentration on work alone with no recreation tends to build high pressure on us. Proper relaxation is absolutely necessary to keep our mind from getting overtaxed. Traveling helps us relax.

Traveling is a way to unwind from hectic schedule and give some time to spend with our family and friends. The most enjoyable part of traveling is enjoying delicious cuisines and shopping for different cultural products. But the most important thing which we have to do before going anywhere is to make a traveling plan. When planning a 5-day trip to Thailand, Anna used XMind to help her. Here is how she makes it.

I opened a blank mind map and wrote down my travel destination: Thailand. To make my mind map more beautiful, I simply inserted an image to the Central Topic.

Pro Tip: To help decorate your maps, XMind offers 109 newly designed clip arts and more than 60,000 icons of various styles. You can drag and drop your desired icons directly to the mind map.

I started my Day 1 with a Floating Central Topic, which is somewhat the same as the Central Topic. You can quickly create as many topics as you want and you can change the map structure easily if you want to. Besides the basic Mind Map structure, XMind also offers Org-chart, Tree-chart, Logic-chart, etc. These charts will play important roles under various circumstances. More importantly, all these charts can be used within one map!

With the Tab Key, I quickly entered all my travel itinerary for the first day, such as vehicle, hotel, scenic spots and budget. In the sub topics, I wrote down more detailed information.

Pro Tip: From XMind 8, XMind offers the option to “Allow Free Position“. Now, you can move the floating topic to wherever you want without worrying that it will be connected to other topics.

Following the same step I made my plan for Day 2 – Day 5.

After I finished my travel plan, I shared it with my travel partner Venus directly using XMind’s Share feature.

Ready to go? You can also use XMind to make a pre-departure checklist to ensure you would not forget anything.

Enjoy your trips!
