Tony Buzan (1942—) is an author and educational consultant.[1] He is a proponent of the techniques of Mind Mapping and mental literacy. Buzan was born in London, is an alumnus of Kitsilano Secondary School, and received double Honours in psychology, English, mathematics and the General Sciences from the University of British Columbia in 1964. He is probably best known for his book, Use Your Head, his promotion of mnemonic systems and his Mind Mapping techniques. He launched his own software program to support mind mapping called iMindMap in December 2006. His website, Buzan World, cites trademarks on the phrase 'Mind Maps' which he has registered in many countries. Following his 1970s series for the BBC, many of his ideas have been set into his series of five books: Use Your Memory, Master Your Memory, Use Your Head, The Speed Reading Book and The Mind Map Book. He has since authored or co-authored over 100 books. Most of his teaching generally divides up into: general awareness of the extensive capabilities and capacities of the brain and its functions, memory skills, reading skills, Mind Map note-taking and note-making, creativity, and how brain function can be improved over time into old age. Buzan developed Mind Mapping whilst at university, out of the frustration that traditional notes took up so much time to create and review. He has argued that Mind Maps are an efficient way to take notes from lectures or books. His brother Barry Buzan, who co-wrote The Mind Map Book, suggested the technique could also be used to capture notes from one's own creative ideas and is useful in business. As a popular psychology author, Tony Buzan has written on subjects relating to the brain, genius quotient (GQ), spiritual intelligence, memory, creativity and speed reading. He is the founder and President of the Brain Foundation (not to be confused with various medical-related bodies with the same name) and also the Brain Trust Charity, the World Memory Championships and the World Championships of the Brain. He was a co-founder of London's Mind Body Spirit festival as well as the Mind Sports Olympiad. Tony's brother Barry is currently Professor of International Relations at the London School of Economics and uses Mind Maps to prepare both his lectures and his many books on the subject.[citation needed] [edit] Selected bibliography Tony Buzan, The Mind Map Book: Radiant Thinking - Major Evolution in Human Thought BBC Active (paperback 2003) ISBN 0-563-48701-1 Tony Buzan, (2000). 1. why mindmaps work

Why Mind Mapping Works – The Proof Is Here! Radiant Thinking So why do Mind Maps work? Can’t I just stick to my lists and my conventional tried and tested techniques? In a Mind Map, information is structured in a way that mirrors exactly how the brain functions – in a radiant rather than linear manner. A Mind Map literally ‘maps’ out your thoughts, using associations, connections and triggers to stimulate further ideas. They extract your ideas from your head into something visible and structured. Research shows that the brain likes to work on the basis of association and it will connect every idea, memory or piece of information to tens, hundreds and even thousands of other ideas and concepts. Anokhin P.K. (1973). ‘The forming of natural and artificial intelligence’. Impact of Science in Society, Vol. XXIII 3. Make a Statement with Colour Sure colour makes documents and Mind Maps look ‘prettier,’ but are there any other reasons why we should be using it? Use Colours * Capture and engage attention: 92% believe colour presents an image of impressive quality (Xerox study, 2003). * Inform: Colour improves comprehension by 73% (‘The Power of Color’, Successful Meetings, June 1992). * Boost sales: Colour increases brand recognition by up to 80% (University of Loyola, Maryland study). * Improve memory: 90% believe that they remember presentations and documents better when colour is used (Xerox study, 2003). Is a Picture Really Worth a Thousand Words? Mind Maps use images – Mind Maps are images! It is commonly accepted that images convey much much more information than a key word or even a whole sentence. But there are other reasons you should use them too: Memory: Novak (1998)¹, Rico (1983)², and Shone (1984)³ all point out that the economical way Mind Maps summarise information into visual symbols, helps you to remember that information i.e. the Mind Map can be clearly pictured in your mind’s eye. Creativity: According to Margulies (1991), before children learn a language, they visualise pictures in their minds which are linked to concepts. Unfortunately, once children are trained to write only words in one colour on lined paper, their creative channels and mental flexibility diminishes. Images keep this creativity fired up. Margulies, S. (1991), Mapping Inner Space: Learning and Teaching Mind Mapping. Zephyr, Tucson, AZ. Impact: A study has proved the benefits of utilising visual elements in presentations and tightly integrating them with words. By comparing visual presentations with verbal presentations, the results were vastly in favour of visualisations. Presenters who used visual language were perceived by the audience as more effective than those using no visuals – they were clearer, more concise, more interesting, more professional, more credible and better prepared. The Wharton School (1981), A Study of the Effects of the Use of Overhead Transparencies on Business Meetings. Wharton Applied Research Center, The Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. Key words: To Use or Not To Use – that is the question Tony Buzan has always been passionate about using key words in Mind Maps rather than phrases or a collection of words. Tony states that a key word is essentially a word that will trigger as much relevant meaning as possible. So by using key words in your Mind Map, you open up your thinking and stimulate your mind to dig deeper and see greater detail on thoughts that were previously vague. Sentences lock in ideas as key words are hidden away. For the ultimate freedom of thinking key words should be used and here is a good example of why... Take your name for example, let’s go for Tony Buzan. If “Tony Buzan” was on a branch the associations are limited to Tony Buzan – what he does, what he likes, dislikes etc. If you were to put just “Buzan” on one branch you can then radiate many more diverse ideas from it – Tony, his brother, mother, father, grandparents etc. You can easily see how one key word provides a much bigger range of associations compared to when you lock together two words which ends up filtering your ideas and limiting the possible connections. Research on note-making and note-taking conducted by Dr Howe (1970) revealed that key word notes personally made or given to students were far more effective in terms of the understanding and recall they engendered than complete transcript notes or sentence summary notes. Howe, M.J.A (1970), ‘Using students’ notes to examine the role of the individual learner in acquiring meaningful subject matter’. Journal of Educational Research, 64, 61-3 Perform at Your Best with Whole Skills Thinking! Mind Mapping brings together your left brain (words, logic, numbers, linearity) and right brain skills (curves, colour, rhythm, images, space) which dramatically increases your mind power. By using both cortical sides simultaneously you are maximising your brain’s potential. The more you integrate left and right brain activities, the more the brain’s performance becomes synergetic. This means that each cortical skill enhances the performance of other areas so that the brain is working at its optimum. Sperry, R.W. (1968), ‘Hemispheric deconnection and unity in conscious awareness’. Scientific American, Vol. 23, pp. 723-35. Use Colours It’s All About Connections Mind Maps are based on associations and connections. Once ideas are displayed in Mind Map form, patterns of thought can be easily examined revealing similarities and linkages between information in different parts of the map. By encouraging people to link apparently different ideas and concepts in this way, Mind Mapping actually promotes divergent and highly creative thinking. White, R. and Gunstone, R. (1992), Probing Understanding. Falmer Press, New York Emphasising and Grouping – Can They Really Help My Memory? By gathering and highlighting key branches within a boundary, such as a highlight cloud, you’re using a memory technique known as ‘chunking’. Our short-term memory is on average only capable of storing seven items of information and chunking can help us use this storage space more effectively. Glass, A.L. and Holyoak, K.J. (1986), Cognition. New York: Random House. How to Harness The Science iMindMap, the only Mind Mapping software endorsed by Tony Buzan, combines all the proven elements of Mind Mapping with cutting edge technology to produce a tool that really does work. By harnessing the techniques that has been scientifically researched and documented has culminated in a software tool that is truly effective by increasing our thinking abilities, enhancing creativity and improving memory. iMindMap can enhance and advance a whole array of activities, including organising, creating, innovating, planning, presenting, note taking, learning, structuring, communicating, problem solving and project managing. FREE 7-day trial of iMindMap can be downloaded from www.iMindMap.com so why not try it out for yourself and see if it actually does work! iMindMap Screenshot 1.

BiggerPlate.com is focused on providing a map sharing space for MindManager files. It offers a map library that is searchable by keyword, tags and categories. When you upload a map to share, the site automatically generates a preview image. Also, you can rate others’ maps, a feature which may help you to zero in on the most valuable maps, as judged by your peers. When you upload maps, you can designate them as password protected. Mappio is a repository for MindManager and FreeMind maps. Maps are searchable by title and keyword tags, and you can also view a set of featured mind maps. You can preview any map as an image file, including small, medium, large and full screen (1024×768 pixel) images that show a lot of detail. You can then decide if you want to download it as an image or as a map. Mappio also displays related maps beneath the currently selected one. The whole site is well designed and is a pleasure to browse. NovaMind Connect – This gallery is a companion to the website of NovaMind Pty. Ltd., a leading developer of mind mapping software. NovaMind enables you to create very colorful and engaging maps, and offers its users a unique capability: They can publish their maps directly from the program to the NovaMind Connect workspace. This gallery contains the most colorful and engaging maps of any I’ve seen. If you want to see what’s possible with mind mapping software, this is the gallery that will inspire you to a higher level of visual mapping. XMIND.net – Like NovaMind Connect, this gallery is part of the XMIND website. You can upload your map files directly from XMIND to this shared map space. Freemindshare – This website bills itself as “a fast, simple way to share your FreeMind mind map(s).” After I logged in, the only option I saw was to upload and view my own maps. There doesn’t seem to be any kind of a public map gallery here. In fact, several of the capabilities of Freemindshare, including “groups” and “messages” don’t seem to be finished yet. Clicking on the links for them leads you to pages that say “This feature is not yet available.” In addition to these galleries, the websites of many of the major mind mapping software developers also house smaller collections of maps, aimed at inspiring potential customers to buy their programs – and to help existing customers get more done with their software.

Answers 38.Why can't I Sign up, Sign in, or Download in IE 8? At present, XMind.net does not perform well on IE 8. Some features are not available. Now, there are two solutions: * Use other browsers, such as Firefox, IE 7, Safari, and Chrome. * Use the "Tools > Compatibility View" in IE 8 to visit http://www.xmind.net/. Sometimes, you find that your XMind is still not the XMind Pro, although you have installed the Pro version. When you meet this problem, please try the below way: 1. Close your XMind. 2. Find and delete an XMind folder in your computer * If you are using Mac, XMind folder is at: "~/library/XMind" * If you are using Windows XP, you can find this folder at: "C:\Documents and Settings\[USER NAME]\Application Data". * If you are using Windows Vista, it's at: " C:\Users\[user name]\AppData\Roaming" 3. It would be better to install the Full Pro version again. 4. Launch your XMind. Now it should be XMind Pro. After installing XMind Pro, we still see XMind version: 3.0.3 in the about dialog. So we should distinguish XMind Pro from XMind with the ways below: * The first way: If you are using XMind Pro, there will be a sign in dialog while launching it. * The second way: XMind Pro has one more menu, "Tools". * The third way: There is no "Upgrade to Pro" option in Help menu if you are using XMind Pro. * Other ways: You can check if your XMind has the XMind Pro features. You can see full XMind Pro features at Help Page. You can use the XMind Pro with the below steps: 1. Sign up an account at the Sign Up page. 2. Buy a subscription code. 3. Sign into your account and use this code to activate this account. 4. Download and install the Pro version at the download page. 5. Launch XMind Pro. 6. Sign in with your activated account and password in the sign in dialog 7. Now, you can use XMind Pro. XMind's online update does not work fluently sometimes. Once you can not update successfully, please download the full latest version from website: * XMind 3: http://www.xmind.net/downloads/ * XMind Pro 3: http://www.xmind.net/pro/downloads/ If you meet the problem while upgrading from XMind to XMind Pro, please uninstall XMind, then download and install the full Pro version. Sharing maps online is a total free service powered by XMind Ltd. Usually, we call it XMindShare. Before enjoying XMind Share, you should have an XMind on computer, and an account. This account is free to get at Sign Up page. To Share with the World: 1. Launch XMind or XMind Pro. 2. Sign in with your account at "Help > Sign in to XMind.net". 3. Change the settings in upload dialog: * Add the map's description. * Decide map's authority: "Public and Downloadable", "Public" or "Private"(available in XMind Pro only) * Select a Thumbnail which will be shown online. * Click "Upload". Upload Dialog Note: 1. Normally, the title of this uploaded map is just the central topic. 2. Private option is only available in XMind Pro. 3. If you want to see a private map, you should Get an invitation from uploader, and Have an account on xmind.net. Everytime download XMind, xmind.net will ask you to sign in. If you do not have an account, you have to sign up one with your email. This account has no charge. But it's an important part of XMind. First, only with this account, you can upload your maps online and share with the world! If you are a XMind Pro subscriber, your online maps can even be shared privately. Second, this account is the key to use XMind Pro. You should use the subscription code to activate your account, and then use XMind Pro. The greatest benefit is that you can use XMind Pro anytime anywhere! In the short future, this account will bring you more convenience. If you purchased the XMind 2008 Professional version after Nov. 10, 2007, you are eligible to receive a free one year subscription for XMind Pro. To upgrade your version of XMind: 1. Visit XMind official website, and Signin to your account. If you do not have an XMind ID, please Sign Up to get a free XMind ID. 2. In your account, Click "Get 1 year subscription for free" link in the left-bottom. Upgrade link 3. Insert your serial number for XMind 2008 Pro into the "SN" field. If you have multiple versions of XMind 2008, you should paste only one serial number at a time. Upgrade dialog 4. Click "Upgrade". 5. You will then see "Congratulations, you get 1 year subscription for XMind Pro 3." 6. Your account now has a one year subscription code associated with it, and you can freely use your new XMind Pro version. Each XMind 2008 Pro serial number can be only be used once to receive a free upgraded subscription. You will still be able to use XMind 2008 Pro on your computer after you have upgraded to XMind Pro 3 if you choose to. After downloading and installing XMind, follow these steps: 1. If you do not have an XMind ID, sign up an ID at Sign Up page. 2. If you are an XMind Pro subscriber, please sign into your account page and use your subscription code to activate your XMind account. 3. Launch XMind or XMind Pro, and sign in with your XMind ID. 4. Now, you will be able to use XMind or XMind Pro seamlessly with our XMind Share service. It's always best to be online when you are using XMind Pro. Our system requires you to sign in with your XMind ID. Then we can alert you to any new release updates, and you can easily upload and share your mind maps on XMind Share. Of course you can still use all features XMind Pro offline when you are not connected to the Internet. If you buy multiple subscription codes, you can either bind them all to one XMind ID, or to multiple XMind IDs corresponding to the number of codes you purchased. For example, if John buys 5 monthly subscription codes and 1 yearly code, John can bind all 6 codes to his own XMind ID. Or, John can bind one code to his XMind ID and share the rest with up to 5 other people, each of whom can bind a code to their own XMind ID. When you bind a subscription code to an XMind ID, our system begins to count the start date for the code at that time. If it is a monthly code, it will expire on the same day of the next month. If it is a yearly code, it will expire on the same day of the next year. For example, if you bind one monthly code to your XMind ID on 09/30/2008, this code will expire on 10/30/2008. If you bind one yearly code to your XMind ID on 10/31/2008, this code will expire on 10/31/2008. If you purchase an XMind Pro subscription directly from your personal page, your account will be renewed automatically after your payment is processed. There are two ways to renew your XMind Pro subscription: * • Purchase a new subscription code by visiting the XMind Pro Purchase page Or from a reseller. After you receive the subscription code, sign into XMind.net and enter the code(s) in your XMind account. * You can also sign into XMind.net and purchase a subscription directly from your personal account page. If you buy subscription in your personal page directly, your account will be renewed automatically after your payment. We take your right to privacy seriously and want you to feel comfortable using our products and services. Therefore, we will not distribute, sell, or share your registration information with anyone. Please refer to our privacy policy for more details. No. After purchase, you can download the software directly from our download page. Yes. You can transfer your codes to your friends, family, or others. But each subscription code can only be used by one XMind ID. Of course, you can own multiple XMind IDs. However each subscription code can only be used by one XMind ID. Once a code is used, it cannot be used again by another XMind ID. There are two types of mind maps in XMind Share: Public and Private. If you want your friends, family, or colleagues to view a public map, you can just send the link to a specific map to them, and they can view the map without an XMind account. Private maps also have a link, but people who you share with must have an XMind ID in order to view them. After clicking the link that you send, the viewer will be prompted to log into their XMind account. You can upload mind maps by following simple steps: * Launch XMind 3 or XMind Pro 3. * Create a new mind map, or open an existing map. * Click on the "Upload" icon on the toolbar, or Choose "File > Upload" from the menu. * In the setting dialog, you can do the following things: o Add a description for this mind map. o Set the map's properties: "Public and Downloadable", "Public" or "Private"(available in XMind Pro only) o Create a small screenshot of this map in Thumbnail o Click "Upload". * Click "Upload". * Sign in XMind.net in the popout dialog * Click "Ok" and finish the process. You will receive an email notice before the expiration date. After the expiration date has passed, you will no longer be able to use XMind Pro or private sharing on Xmind Share. Your private maps on xmind.net will no longer be viewable or downloadable, and will be deleted from the service one month after the expiration date has passed, if you choose not to renew your XMind Pro subscription before then. For example, if you purchase a one year subscription code on 10/31/2008, this code will expire on 10/31/2009. On 09/30/2009, you will receive the first email from XMind LTD to alert you that your subscription will expire within one month. On 10/24/2009, you will receive a second notification email. If you do not renew by 10/31/2009, your XMind Pro will no longer work. The private maps online will not be available for viewing or download. If you do not renew by 11/30/2009, any private maps in XMind Share will be deleted. At present, XMind Pro 3 does not have a trial version available. XMind 3 and XMind Pro 3 are the two current editions of XMind. XMind 3 is the free version of the application, and releases 3.0 and above are dual-licensed under the Eclipse Public License (EPL) and the GNU Lesser General Public License (LGPL). XMind Pro is a commercial software application. In addition to all XMind 3 features, it has advanced features such as Presentation mode, Audio Notes, Task Info, Gantt View, Filter, and Private Sharing on XMind Share. For a full comparison of XMind 3 and XMind Pro 3, see ourFeatures Comparison Chart. XMind Pro use is based on a subscription service. You can buy a monthly or yearly subscription code to activate and use XMind Pro. XMind Share is a web service XMind LTD provides that lets you upload and share your mind maps online with your family, friends, and colleagues. XMind Share is free for public sharing. Once you sign up on the XMind Official Website, you will have an XMind ID. At this point, you can upload as many maps to your account as you like. These maps are public, and can be viewed by anyone visiting the XMind Share site. However, only the people who have an XMind ID can favorite, leave comments, and download these public maps freely. If you have an XMind Pro subscription code and enter it to your account, you can choose to make your online maps private, and share only with people you specifically invite. The invited people need to have an XMind ID to see these private maps. XMind ID is the name of your account on http://www.xmind.net. You can sign up to get an XMind ID for free. When you have an XMind ID, you can share your mind maps online. If you have an active XMind Pro subscription, you can use the advanced feature of XMind Share, which is to make your online mind maps private. After receiving your subscription code, you can activate it using the following steps: 1. Visit XMind.net, and sign into your account. If you don't have an account, please click here and create your account for free. 2. Copy and paste your code into subscription field at your personal XMind page. 3. Click "Activate" to bind this code to your account. 4. Now, you can use all features of XMind Share, and let your online mind maps be private or privately shared with other XMind users. 5. Launch XMind Pro. 6. Sign in with your XMind ID in the pop-up dialog. Once your subscription code expires, yyou will not be able to use the XMind Pro application until you renew your subscription. XMind Pro subscription codes consist of 25 letters and digits, separated by dashes into 5 letter groups. All of the letters in the code are upper case. (e.g. XM234-XM234-XM234-XM234-XM234). With this code, you can activate XMind Pro and the sharing features. There are some kinds of subscription codes. One type is a monthly code, which expires after one month. The other type is a yearly code. The start date is the date when the subscription code is bound to one XMind ID. You can import your own markers to use in XMind by: * Launch XMind and Open "Marker View". * Click "Show marker manager" on the marker view toolbar. * Add and name your own marker group in the opened preference dialog. * Add and name your own images into added mareker group. * click "OK", and finish all steps. You can add your own images into the XMind gallery by: * Windows: Copy and plaste your images to the XMind image gallery folder. This fold is: C:\Program Files\XMind\plugins\org.xmind.ui.gallery.resources_3.0.1.200812152237\images * Mac: Copy and plaste your images to: /Applications/xmind.app/Contents/plugins/org.xmind.ui.gallery.resources_3.0.1.200812152237/images In XMind, you can position your topics in several different ways. While selecting a topic, you can choose how to position the topic by pressing one of these keys: * Shift: The selected topic will not be linked with its current parent topic, and become a floating topic. * Ctrl: Copy and move the selected topic. * Alt: Move the main topic to a specific location on the map.( This function is only available in the "Mind Map"structure option.) XMind Pro is a subscription-based program, and is not free to use. To properly subscribe to XMind Pro: 1. Buy Subscription code from our Purchase page. 2. Create and register your XMind ID online. You can register your XMind ID either before or after purchasing subscription code. 3. Sign int to XMind account, and activate the subsciption code in your account page. 4. Download and install the correct XMind Pro version for your operating system on your computer. 5. Launch XMind Pro and sign in with your XMind ID. XMind is a cross-platform software package, and can be used on Windows, Mac, and Linux-based systems. The functionality of XMind is exactly the same for each of these operating systems. The XMind download page contains all of the installation packages; just choose the right one for your system. XMind can be downloaded as a portable "all-in-one" zip file package. Un-zip the file into an empty folder on your drive. The zip file contains four different packages: XMind for Windows, XMind for Mac OS X, XMind for Linux, and XMind for 64-bit Linux. Connect your portable drive or U-disk to any computer that uses one of the four operating system options, and launch XMind from there. Please visit our purchase page for detailed information on purchasing multiple subscription codes. If your XMind Pro subscription has expired and you choose not to renew the subscription, you can still use XMind 3, an open source edition of XMind, to open and edit your maps. However, you will not have access to the advanced features that XMind Pro offers. You can change the XMind interface language to English by following the steps: * Find the installation folder of XMind (Windows/Linux) or the application package "Contents/MacOS" folder(Mac) * Open xmind.ini file with any text editor. * Add the following two lines file to the begining of this file o First line: -nl o Second line: en_US * change language * Save this file and re-launch XMind. You can also change the interface language to other languages by changing the second line text from "en_US" to: * Simplified Chinese: zh_CN * Traditional Chinese: zh_TW * German: de * Japanese: ja You can improve the performance of the XMind application by modifying some of the graphical display functions and spell-checking capabilities in XMind. To make these changes, follow these steps: * To modify graphics settings, Choose "Edit > Preferences > Mind Map", uncheck the "Enable animation" and "Enable Shadow" boxes, and press OK. * To modify spell check settings, Choose "Edit > Preferences > Spelling", uncheck the "Enable spell checking" box, and press OK. If you can't find the right hyperlink or think of the right word or phrase to search for, the information you want might just as well not be there. WikIT uses mind maps as an added navigation layer. All the usual wiki access methods are here, but there are mind maps as well to give a visual overview. We have plans to enhance this further. If you are here for the first time, you might want to start at the information maps article and use the mind map there to see what this part of WikIT contains. Here are just a few of the main sections: * information map types * Information map uses * Personal uses of mind maps * Business uses of mind maps * Use of mind maps in formal education * How to make a mind map * How to make a concept map * Project planning with mind maps * Creativity through mind mapping * ... more at the Information mapping articles browse list All pages Here is a list of all pages to date. 1. BUZAN_ENG

7 Steps to Making a Mind Map 1.Start in the CENTRE of a blank page turned sideways. Why? Because starting in the centre gives your Brain freedom to spread out in all directions and to express itself more freely and naturally.  2.Use an IMAGE or PICTURE for your central idea. Why? Because an image is worth a thousand words and helps you use your Imagination. A central image is more interesting, keeps you focussed, helps you concentrate, and gives your Brain more of a buzz! 3.Use COLOURS throughout. Why? Because colours are as exciting to your Brain as are images. Colour adds extra vibrancy and life to your Mind Map, adds tremendous energy to your Creative Thinking, and is fun! 4.CONNECT your MAIN BRANCHES to the central image and connect your second- and third-level branches to the first and second levels, etc. Why? Because your Brain works by association. It likes to link two (or three, or four) things together. If you connect the branches, you will understand and remember a lot more easily. 5.Make your branches CURVED rather than straight-lined. Why? Because having nothing but straight lines is boring to your Brain. 6.Use ONE KEY WORD PER LINE. Why Because single key words give your Mind Map more power and flexibility. 7.Use IMAGES throughout. Why Because each image, like the central image, is also worth a thousand words. So if you have only 10 images in your Mind Map, it's already the equal of 10,000 words of notes!

Buru-mapak egiteko legeen asmoa zure buru-askatasuna handiagotzea da, ez murriztea. Testuinguru horretan garrantzitsua da ez nahastea: 1. ordena eta zurruntasuna; ez eta 2. askatasuna eta anabasa ere. Sarriegi hartzen dugu (1) ordena gauza negatibotzat, zurruna eta murriztailea bailitzan. Era berean nahastu egiten dira (2) askatasuna eta (2) anabasa edo egiturarik eza. Izan ere, benetako buru-askatasuna zera da: anabasatik ordena sortzea. Horrexetan lagunduko gaituzte buru-mapagintzarako legeek zehazki. Multzo bitan banatzen ditugu lege horiek: teknika-legeak eta diagramazio-legeak.

The 8 best ways to improve your mind maps – CHUCK FREY Mind mapping software is one of those software tools that can be used to create clear, concise visual maps that communicate information and knowledge with great clarity. But all too often, they aren’t as effective as they should be. Here are eight top ways to supercharge the effectiveness of your software-produced mind maps: 1. Use a master map. A master map is a map of all of your mind maps. In other words, it’s a single mind map that enables you to organize and quickly access all of the visual diagrams you have created with your mind mapping software. It enables you to organize your knowledge and projects in a way that makes the most sense to you – in other words, a visual representation of your work. This personalized, organic repository of links to your mind maps (and other files) can provide you with a quantum leap in productivity. 2. Stick to one map, one purpose. A mind map should be focused on a single topic or purpose – which should be clearly defined before you begin mapping. For best results, stay focused on the map subject and let its content speak to the issue. Avoid irrelevancy. If the information in your map becomes too complex or starts to “branch out” into several widely divergent areas, consider breaking that map into several sub-maps. 3. Use icons in your maps. They add visual context to your map topics, and actually give your maps database-like qualities. In other words, you can utilize them to filter your map's content - to zero in on the tasks it contains, or only the follow-ups assigned to a particular person on your staff, for example. 4. Optimize the content of your maps. If you’re planning to utilize your mind maps to communicate information to others, you must review them with a critical eye. Do they communicate clearly and unambiguously? If I was someone seeing your map for the first time, would I be able to make sense of the hierarchy of topics and sub-topics? Would the wording and placement of each topic and sub-topic make sense to me? Neatness is also important. Like it or not, people make judgments based on the visual appeal of what you’re trying to communicate to them. Here are some tips for optimizing the visual appearance of your maps: Are all of the topics and sub-topics where they should be within your map? Or are there items that seem out be obviously of place? Don’t be afraid to move topics around to see if they would make better sense in a different area of your map – sort a visual “what if” process that enables you to reassess that information in a different context. This process of “refactoring” is explained in greater detail in my e-book, and is an excellent way to increase the value and completeness of your maps. Collapse your map until only the first-level topics are visible, and then look critically at your map’s central theme and first-level topics. Ideally, your map should be self-explanatory at this first level. Consider the order in which your primary topics appear. Do they follow each other in a logical sequence? If not, rearrange them until they are in a more explicit sequence that will make sense to others who may be seeing your map for the first time. Don’t leave stray topics scattered around your map. Make sure that all of the primary and secondary topics are arranged neatly. 5. Avoid clutter and unnecessary detail in your maps.  Often, users of mind mapping software develop maps that are so cluttered that they get “stuck” and aren’t sure how to fix them. As a general rule, you should develop your ideas in topics using brief key words. Ideally, your topics should be summarizing statements, like brief, persuasive headlines. If you want to add details, they should be placed in topic notes – so you can easily “drill down” to view them if you need to, but most of the time they are “hidden” to minimize visual clutter. 6. Consistency is critical. Be consistent in your use of color, shapes, line styles and other visual elements of your map. Each of these can help to convey additional meaning or context, if used consistently and systematically. If they are used haphazardly, on the other hand, they may confuse you and other people with whom you share your maps. 7. Leverage the power of images. To get the biggest benefit out of your maps, be sure to include relevant images in them. This technique will enhance their creative impact by appealing to both sides of your brain. Remember: a picture is worth a thousand words! 8. Consider creating a personal dashboard map. A personal dashboard is a mind map whose function is to consolidate information from multiple places. Its purpose is to show you a streamlined view of information from many places in a single map. Ideally, it should help you to connect the dots between previously disparate pieces of information, leading to better decision making. It should contain the information that is most important to you, including: Life roles and goals (work, personal, spiritual, etc.) Major projects and tasks Links to your key files and software applications One powerful, ready-made set of dashboard maps is Kyle McFarlin’s Visual Strategist Solution, a set of free templates that is designed to be a complete personal and professional framework for your visual mapping activities. It not only incorporates best practices for visual mapping, it also includes a framework to house your maps and any supporting files and folders on your PC. In closing, remember that mind maps are much more than a tool for creatively and visually capturing your ideas. They're business tools that can be used to drive strategy, manage projects and produce superior results. For more productivity-enhancing tips like these, consider investing in my e-book, Power Tips & Strategies for Mind Mapping Software - Second Edition. Comments Thank you for the incredible source of mind mapping resources and information you've become for me, Chuck. Your blog and newsletters are always appreciated. This post is a perfect example of what I value. I'd encountered most of the information before but it's helpful to find it presented so succinctly. Best wishes for the year ahead.
