Happy New Year to all our blog readers.

How time flies, 2017 is over and we welcome in the new year 2018. We believe that you’ve had a fruitful and successful 2017. New year, new resolution. It’s the perfect time for us to make this our best year ever. Let’s take the first step to make sure that the new year starts with a great new chapter by setting new year’s resolutions with XMind ZEN.

Start with a gorgeous theme

Choose from 30 eye-catching themes that make your mind map look beautiful and professional from the get-go. XMind ZEN offers 30 well-designed and grouped themes for you to choose from. When you launch XMind ZEN, you will be greeted with a simple and clean UI. Double-click your desired theme, a blank map will be created. Then you can enter your subject in the central topic.

With XMind ZEN’s thoughtful design, you can always change your theme later. Just open the theme panel and double click your desired theme to easily change the look and feel of your mind map.

Use keywords

To make mind mapping easily and quickly, XMind ZEN supports multiple shortcuts. With Enter key you can quickly enter main topics and Tab key subtopics. There are 6 main sections of my mind map, so I press the Enter key to add 6 main topics. In order to keep the mind map clean and organized, it’s important to add keywords instead of sentences.

Add images

As the saying goes, “a picture is worth a thousand words“. Not only help images express your thoughts visually, but they also decorate your mind maps. In XMind ZEN, there are 89 newly designed and grouped stickers, with which you can make a more intuitive mind map.

If you want to insert your own images, it’s easy too. Simply drag and drop your desired image to the target topic. And XMind ZEN lets you put your image wherever you want. With drag and drop you can place it to the up, down, left or right of the text.

Create detailed plan

With the Tab key you can quickly add as many subtopics as you want. In XMind’s endless blank canvas, you can write all your plans in it. Remember to set “SMART” goals. That means they should be specific, measurable, attainable, relevant and time-bound.

XMind ZEN supports multiple sheets in a single workbook, which helps users better collect and organize information. In order to accomplish your new year resolutions, you should make a concrete goal and create a detailed plan on how to reach it.

Simple click the Plus sign (+) in the sheet bar you can create a new sheet. Right-click the sheet name you can rename, delete, duplicate the sheet or create a new one.

Share your experiences with others

Don’t keep your resolutions to yourself. Talk about them with your family and friends. When you have someone else to “share your struggles and successes,” it makes the journey easier and less intimidating. Most importantly, it keeps you inspired and motivated. So why not share your new year resolutions with others?

XMind ZEN supports directly share your mind map to Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest. Or you can just print it out and then stick it to the wall to remind yourself of your goals. With XMind ZEN, you can print the whole workbook directly.

Keep track of your process

“People who monitor behavior tend to do a better job, even if they’re not actively trying to change,” says Gretchen Rubin, the author of Better than Before. To keep your new year’s resolution, you should keep track of your process. With XMind ZEN, you can review your plans and make adjustments anytime. Don’t forget to reward yourself when your intermediate goals or resolutions are met.
