This month, we receive many emails focusing on some same questions. I believe many other users have these questions too. So it’s necessary to write a post to share them publicly.
Q. I work in a business organization. Can I use XMind free version in the office?
A. No problem. There are no any limitations on where to use XMind free version. BTW, it is an open source software dual licensed under two licenses, LGPL and EPL. If you’re a developer, and want to do something, please bear the licenses.
Q. I have bought XMind Pro subscription code via paypal, where is my code?
A. XMind Pro Subscription code has 25 letters and numbers. If you buy with paypal, because of paypal’s rule, XMind system will send the subscription code to the primary email of your paypal account soon after your payment. If you can not find this email at inbox, please also check about the spam folder.
Q. I’m a XMind Pro user, and have a PC and Mac. Should I ordered two subscription codes if using XMind Pro on both of them?
A. No need. Current XMind Pro uses Subscription mode. So once your XMind account has been renewed by subscription code, you can launch XMind, sign in with this renewed XMind Account and enjoy XMind Pro anywhere.
Q. I have not seen any update of XMind for a few months. Are you still working on it?
A. Yes, and we’re working on XMind new version. It should not take long time to wait.

May Xmind or any partner of Xmind ever claim a use or ownership right to the material or ideas that are hosted on the Xmind service by an Xmind subscriber?
What governing authority is over the Xmind services? China or Hong Kong?
According to Wikipedia, a new version of Xmind has not been releases since November of 2010. This is a good deal longer than “a few months” you cite. Can you elaborate a bit on the timeline for a new release and perhaps some indication of what subscribers may expect?
XMind Ltd is a HongKong registered company, bearing HongKong Law.
I work with Xmind for a few month. I use the hyperlink, however after a copy and cut the Xmind file the hyperlinks stay fixe in relation to a full location of folder. Therefore if I change the name of sub-folder or If I move the folder, the hyperlink created doesn’t work.
Is it possible to have a dynamic hyperlink (link with their location)
I am really looking forward to the new version, and recommending your work of software art to everyone who is willing to listen
Guys, (and ladies) huge thumbs up for making this also available as freeware (I have a Pro version, of course, because you are awesome!)

And change price please, xmind is not online service to pay every year for the same app, which doesn’t have updates for 2 years.

If I have to guess they were paid by you-know-who to slow down development.
I am a developper, i am wondering if there will be strong changes related to XMind API and .xmind format with this new version.(I hope not). Thanks by advance.

€ 40 a year without updating it’s not normal
We should only pay for new features like a normal software
Actually, it seems doubtful that ANY development at all is still taking place.
Hence, time-lines, features and maybe even alpha/beta releases would go a long way to dispel the sentiment that XMind is no longer pursued.
I am very happy with XMind. i have a pro licence. I am tired of waiting for an update. As previous contributors have mentioned, 2 years is too long to wait on subscription based software. There is much room for improvement and some indication of progress would be appreciated.
Obviously “It should not take long time to wait.” means something different to me than the developers.
No post since April in their blog? Amazing!
Welll, when will a new version be released? It’s been forever! I’d like to support this project, but not without any garantees that it will continue to be alive, be updated, etc.

What happen to best Mind Mapping application? I am even thinking to fall back to FreeMind which have updates everyday..
