XMind 3 is both a product and an open source project released on November 10, 2008. XMind 3’s mission statement is to create, as a community, the leading international mind mapping and brainstorming software that will run on all major platforms and raise users' work efficiency. The XMind 3 open source project is sponsored by XMind LTD, which is the primary contributor of code to the project. XMind Pro 3 is a commercial software package. Based on XMind 3, it also incorporates many advanced features that are not available in the XMind 3 product, such as Presentation, Audio Notes, Private Sharing, Task Info, Gantt View, and Filter. These features can bring great advantages for businesses and power users. Share.XMind.net is an online service that allows users to upload and share mind maps created using XMind. All XMind users are free to upload, download, share or comment on existing maps. Private Sharing is an advanced feature available to XMind Pro subscribers only. With private sharing, XMind Pro subscribers can restrict access to their online mind maps and share only with the people they choose.

• 11-30-2007, XMind releases XMind 2008 v2.1.
